I’m incredibly grateful and honored to be featured on the George Brown Polytechnic website! Jun 2025
This recognition means so much to me, especially as a international student that is always trying to learn in college, not only in class but with my amazing friends and employees, I can see that I’m in the correct path. My journey at GBC has been full of growth, learning, and meaningful connections from volunteering and leading as VP of the Supply Chain Club to participating in the unforgettable 2025 FHSS Congress as a Volunteer Lead Assistant an experienced that definitely opened doors for me!
Thank you to everyone at GBC who’s supported me along the way. I’m so proud to be part of this amazing community!
Thank you especially to Davor Mamuzic for all the guidance and encouragement!
If I could leave a message, would be: Embrace everything that GBP offers! They are an amazing college! And you will grow a lot if you are involved with them!
Student Life Ambassador
Everything has a beginning…

In the first photo (bottom), I’m just a young student, that is always engaged across different areas of the college. Through volunteering and representing the campus in various programs I was part in GBP (not only full-time education, but also did continue education), I built connections that eventually led me to become the Student Life Ambassador!
Student Life, a key part of Student Success, truly makes a difference in students experiences. For me, it was never just about getting a paid role, but about understanding the value of contributing, what you can bring to others, to your community, and, in my case, to the institution.
With over +200h of volunteering across the polytechnic and Canada in general, I was able to secure both internal and external opportunities. This journey showed me that success here is possible for anyone who understands and takes advantage of the opportunities available.
I would also like to thank Margrit Talpalaru, PhD , who gave me the opportunity to help in a survey during Open House, contributing to improving the experience for future students and the institution as a whole!
I would like to thank you Davor Mamuzic for inviting me to represent the organization at a new employee orientation meeting in GBP a moment that reflects the trust placed in me, thank you Kinza Alam for including the view of students that also work inside of the institution, such as me.
I’m truly grateful to my team, my professors, and everyone who supported me along the way including the Hadiyyah KumaThomas K., Elvis Glover and all the incredible students I’ve worked with( Thank you all!)
This experience has shown me that I am part of something bigger. Every moment, whether at work or outside of it, is an opportunity to grow, build connections, and encourage others to get involved.
Because at the end of the day, making a difference, even a small one and putting a smile on someone’s face is what truly matters!
Thank you, George Brown Polytechnic
